Inspiration Collecting

Thinking about creating a YouTube account to put up small clips of my NaNoWriMo experience and things that may inspire or represent my novel and characters. What do you think?

NaNoWriMo

I've always loved writing. Ever since I can remember I've collected notebooks to write stories and poetry. I heard about NaNoWriMo at the end of last October, meaning that realistically, I was too late to get involved. Fast forward 11 months and I'm ready to write 50,000 words! I've been planning my plot and developing my characters over the past few weeks and am very much looking forward to the 1,667 word a day ritual. I've even made a list for when I'm ready to go 'nanowrimo survival' shopping, and buy packs of iced coffee and extra notepads. Maybe I'll keep track of my progress here? Are you getting involved this year? Are you prepared and organised?

What's on my iPhone?

Phones, even though just technology, are a great representation of ourselves. They hold our conversations, our photographs, our pass-times and our inspirations. My iPhone is a chunk of me that I think helps to define myself, and the kind of person I am. Take that as you will...

Harry Potter Ultimate Editions Review

Those who know me will know of my love for Harry Potter. My collection has been growing from a young age, and I am the proud owner of all of the books and DVDs as well as extra tidbits such as a golden snitch bracelet and a scrapbook (it's a work in progress). I have only just started to collect the Ultimate Editions of the Harry Potter franchise, as I don't own a blu-ray player. However, I've decided to start collecting them as they include a DVD version, as well as a Blu-Ray disc, of the movie, special features and an hour or so long documentary researching all the different parts of making the movies in each set. As well as 4 hours of special features, each film box includes a 48 page book with rare photographs from years 1 through to 7, and collectible character cards. My collection so far consists of Years 2 and 3, but is growing at a considerably fast rate!
The products (ordered from amazon) arrived quickly and in excellent condition. The outer cover for the boxes had small creases in the corners but aren't visible when placed on shelf. The boxes are well presented and thought out, with photographs from the films on the inside flap. The DVDs and small parts fit snugly inside the box, yet are still easy to remove when in use. The photo books are a lovely touch and include some great artwork and concept designs as well as stills from the films and costume ideas. Overall, I think that these are well worth the price and are a must for any harry potter fan of any age. Magical :)

My CD Collection

Hands up who loves the feeling of opening a new CD case and admiring the disc and booklet art and repeating the whole album for weeks? My hand is certainly reaching for the clouds right now. I've always preferred owning a physical copy of a CD but due to the cheaper expenses and practicality of downloading albums via iTunes, I unfortunately don't own many tangible CDs. Seeing as I own very little, I've decided to share with you my collection. Hopefully this will introduce you to some potential new artists or albums to explore or even just remind you of the copies you have tucked away on a dusty bookshelf?

Alt-J, An Awesome Wave

Hummingbird, Local Natives (I also really recommend their first album, Gorilla Manor)

My Head is an Animal, OMAM

Born To Die (paradise edition), Lana Del Rey

Happiness, Hurts

Total Life Forever, Foals

A Different Kind of Fix, Bombay Bicycle Club
